Federal Minister of Energy, Power Division, Khurram Dastgir has said that the payment issues of electricity generation companies in Tharparkar are the cause of our economic problems, 100% payment cannot be done.
According to the sources, the domestic and Chinese companies not only completed power projects by investing billions of dollars from Thar desert coal, but also played their role in ending the energy crisis by providing 2650 megawatts of electricity to the country.
Sources say that in view of the country’s economic situation, the federal government is unable to pay billions of rupees to the power generation companies in Tharparkar, the debts of these companies to the government have reached 60 billion rupees.
Federal Minister Khurram Dastgir admitted that the main reason for the non-payment of these companies is the economic situation.
Experts say that the coal of the Thar desert can not only meet the country’s electricity needs, but the coal can also be exported to earn a lot of foreign exchange, but for this, the investors have to give confidence.
