Karachi: Pakistan Flour Mills Association asked for permission to import wheat on behalf of the provincial authorities on the purchase of wheat.

Chaudhry Amir Abdullah questioned that the Prime Minister had claimed that wheat is a bumper crop, why is wheat not available in the market despite this? He said that the reason for this is that the hoarders are active and storing wheat due to government patronage.
He said that the governments of Sindh and Punjab are not allowing the flour mills to buy wheat, while hoarders have been given an open exemption, if this policy continues, the prices of flour will increase further.
