San Francisco: In 2018, YouTube, inspired by Snapchat, introduced the Stories option in its app, which has been announced to be discontinued exactly a month later.

The goal of Stories was to provide a new way for creators to connect with consumers. This is the reason why full screen option is also kept to increase the engagement of people.

YouTube said in its official announcement that ‘Today there are many ways to create on YouTube, including community posts, shorts and long-form videos. But now stories are losing their appeal and will be phased out from June 26, 2023. The story posted on this date will also disappear in the next seven days.

One of the reasons for this is that YouTube shorts have gained immense popularity. Secondly, the company may offer an alternative. However, YouTube has indicated that Stories may not gain the popularity that was expected.
