Video of launch sinking near Charna Island surfaced, 18 fishermen rescued

A launch called Al Wadud, which had gone to sea for a month for fishing from the Karachi coast, had an accident in the deep sea on its way back due to strong winds, due to which the launch loaded with fish overturned.

According to the security in-charge of Karachi Fisheries, Nasir Boniri, the launch accident occurred in Spit (Balochistan), an area between Hangul and Charna Island.

The fishermen were on their way back to Karachi after completing the work, and they were supposed to reach Fishery on May 27. They say that due to the strong waves in the deep sea, the Alwood launch plank broke.

The launch broke into two pieces and sank into the deep sea. The fishermen continued to float on the boards, the accident occurred due to the strong winds and stormy waves in the sea, Akhtar Munir, the captain of the launch informed in time, after which the Alyousfi launch, which was hunting nearby, reached the spot.

Fishermen from other launches engaged in fishing in the deep sea also provided immediate assistance, the fishermen were able to save the lives of their colleagues.

According to Nasir Boniri, the value of the sunken launch was two and a half to three crore rupees, there was a large amount of fish and prawns in the launch, as soon as the accident was reported, the Pakistan Navy, Coast Guards and Maritime Security Agency were also informed.
