A larger bench of the Supreme Court will hear the petitions against the AudioLeaks Commission today.
The bench headed by the Chief Justice will include Justice Ijazul Ahsan, Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Shahid Waheed and Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi.
President Supreme Court Bar Abid Zubiri and others have challenged the summoning notice of the AudioLeaks Commission and requested the Supreme Court to declare the proceedings and orders of the AudioLeaks Inquiry Commission as unconstitutional and illegal.
The Audio Leaks Commission has summoned 4 persons connected with the alleged audios: Abid Zuberi, Khawaja Tariq Rahim Advocate, journalist Abdul Qayyum Siddiqui and Najam Saqib, son of former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, yesterday.
It should be noted that Justice Qazi Faiz Isa is the head of the commission established by the government to investigate the issue of audio leaks, while Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court Naeem Akhtar and Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Amir Farooq are among the members.
