Lahore: The High Court ordered to stop the by-elections in NA-108 Faisalabad and NA-118 Nankana Sahib.
Justice Shahid Karim issued a restraining order on the petitions of Farrukh Habib and Ijaz Shah. Farrukh Habib and Ijaz Shah had filed petitions in the High Court through Azhar Siddique Advocate.

Justice Shahid Karim pronounced a reserved judgment on the petition of Farrukh Habib and Ijaz Shah. By-elections were to be held on May 28 in both the constituencies.
The position of the petitioner was that the term of the National Assembly has been less than 90 days, therefore legally by-elections cannot be held in these constituencies. On the one hand, the Election Commission says that elections cannot be held in Punjab and on the other hand, by-elections are going to be held by releasing funds for both the constituencies.
