A decades-old grenade suddenly exploded in America, killing one person and injuring two others.
According to American media reports, the incident took place in the state of Indiana, where an old grenade exploded while cleaning a house.
The deceased has been identified by the Lake County Coroner’s Office as Brian Neidert.
The Lake County Sheriff says Neidert and her 18-year-old daughter and 14-year-old son were checking out their grandfather’s belongings in the Lakes of the Four Seasons when they were hit by a hand grenade and someone pulled the pin.
The explosion of the grenade caused a loud explosion as a result of which the father died on the spot while the son and daughter were shifted to the hospital with injuries.
On receiving the information, the bomb disposal squad was called and searched and the area was sealed and traffic was stopped. The sheriff says there may be more explosives or detonation devices in the area.
