Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial has said that NAB is misusing its powers at present.
In the Supreme Court, a hearing was held on the NAB application to freeze the bank accounts of NAB accused Nadeem Hameed Sheikh.
A 2-member bench headed by Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial conducted the hearing.
The Chief Justice asked the NAB prosecutor that how much money is there in the accounts of the accused, which has to be frozen?
The NAB prosecutor told the court that a freezing order is required for the bank account of Rs 48,674.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan expressed indignation and asked what kind of joke is this?
He said that NAB got an authority which it is using everywhere, NAB is behind only 48 thousand rupees, if it was 48 crores, it would have been a problem.
Justice Athar Minullah while giving remarks said that NAB is not fair, NAB should not have filed such an application.
After expressing indignation of the court, NAB withdrew the application.
The Supreme Court disposed of the case on withdrawal of the petition.
