Five Iranian border guards were killed in an encounter with an armed group in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchistan province. Condemning the incident, Iran has demanded Pakistan to improve the security of the Iran-Pak common border areas.
According to Iranian media, Iranian guards clashed with the armed group in Sarawan border area adjacent to Pakistan, the armed terrorist group was trying to enter Iran. After the encounter with the Iranian guards, the terrorists escaped.
Spokesperson of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Nasir Kanani, says that the terrorist attack in Saravan was aimed at worsening the joint border security situation and harming the security of the people living on the borders of the two countries.
He said that Iran expects Pakistan to take action against terrorists and improve the security of common borders.
