Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi says that the cotton crop can prove to be an economic game changer for the province and the farmers.
In the meeting presided over by Mohsin Naqvi, the progress regarding cotton sowing was reviewed.
He has instructed in the meeting to achieve the target of cotton sowing and production in any case and said that the target of cotton sowing is also to be achieved and complete maintenance of the crop is also necessary.
Mohsin Naqvi has said that cash rewards will be given to farmers who get more cotton production.
Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab has also ordered to prevent the incidents of water theft across the province.
It was decided in the meeting that the cotton farmers will not be allowed to lack anything including water, seeds and fertilizers.
Mohsin Naqvi also issued instructions to make the action against those selling fake medicines and seeds more effective across the province.
He also said that the minimum support price of cotton has been fixed at Rs 8500, it is our mission to achieve the target of cotton sowing.
