NEPRA issued the decision after hearing the request of the federal government.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved to increase the cost of electricity for Karachi by an additional rupees 55 paise per unit.
The increase was sanctioned under the second quarter adjustment of the previous financial year. Nepra sent the decision to the federal government for notification.
Additional collections will be made during May to July 2023.
The federal government had approached Nepra to maintain a uniform tariff in the country. NEPRA issued the decision after hearing the request of the federal government.
