Karachi: The High Court was surprised at the appointment of 5 members of the same family, including the secretary, in grade 20 in the Sindh Assembly, and called for the complete records of the employees.
In the Sindh High Court, before a bench comprising of Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro and Justice Adnan Al Karim Memon, a petition against the appointments of 5 members of the same family in grade 20, including the secretary, was heard in the Sindh Assembly.
The petitioner’s lawyer stated that Additional Secretary of Sindh Assembly Muhammad Khan Rind has submitted a report in the court, Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani removed Muhammad Khan Rind from his post for submitting a factual report.
The Additional Secretary had declared the recruitment as illegal in the report, the Additional Advocate General stated that Muhammad Khan submitted the reply in the court without permission, we should be given time to submit the reply.
The court was also surprised at the appointment of 5 members from the same family. Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro remarked that the whole family has been seated in the Sindh Assembly. 5 people from the same family have been recruited in 20th grade.
Justice Adnan Al Kareem Memon while giving remarks said that here people do not get the job of Deputy Messenger easily. Have you ever heard of 5 people from the same family being recruited at the same place?, the court remarked that we are giving you a last chance, submit your reply at the next hearing. If the answer is not submitted, action will be taken as per law.
The court called for the complete records of employees in the Sindh Assembly, adjourned the hearing of the application till February 15.
