Shafqat Mahmood's demand for punishment of the elements involved in the May 9 incidents

Former federal minister and senior leader of Tehreek-e-Insaaf Shafqat Mehmood described the events of May 9 as tragic and demanded punishment of the involved elements.

Shafqat Mehmood while speaking in Geo News program ‘Naya Pakistan’ said that what happened on May 9 is very sad, whoever is involved in the arson should be punished.

The PTI leader further said that there should be an independent commission regarding these incidents, there were people who were not from our party in these incidents.

He said that we all condemned the events of May 9, Imran Khan had expressed regret over these events from the beginning.

Shafqat Mehmood also said that there is no doubt that everyone’s hearts are saddened by the events of May 9, it is very important to have an independent inquiry to know the facts.

He said that PDM is trying to oust Imran Khan in some way, the statements and concerns of the government are not acceptable to us.

The PTI leader said that there was no such plan in our party, these incidents should be investigated and not left to PDM.

He said that Tehreek-e-Insaaf is the biggest party in Pakistan, I want to ask if it will be a solution to take action against the biggest party without inquiry?

Shafqat Mahmood said that PDM has a track record of not even accepting the Supreme Court’s decision. I want to ask whether what is happening with our party leadership is according to the law.

He said that it is necessary to create the conditions to go towards the election, most of the cases against them were before our government came.

The PTI leader said that Tehreek-e-Insaaf was the first party, which tried to change the NAB rules, the only way to negate their retaliation is to form an independent inquiry commission.

He said that PDM is currently standing on the sidelines clapping happily, this is the time to widen rifts not to reduce them, they want things to be bad, we have to manage things.
