In a tense meeting between US President Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, the two leaders agreed to increase US-Japan defense cooperation against growing Chinese influence in the region.
According to the White House, issues related to Russia, Ukraine and China were discussed in the meeting of the US President with the Japanese Prime Minister in the Japanese city of Hiroshima.
The Japanese Prime Minister said that it has been agreed with President Biden to support Ukraine against Russia and to continue the sanctions against Russia.
In the meeting between the two leaders, US-Japan cooperation on common issues was emphasized and China’s growing influence in the region was also discussed.
