Saudi Deputy Interior Minister Dr. Nasir bin Abdulaziz Dawood met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Shahbaz Sharif thanked Saudi Arabia for the aid during the floods last year.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the Saudi government for its cooperation in the evacuation of Pakistanis stuck in Sudan.
Shahbaz Sharif appreciated the Saudi government for including Pakistan in the “Road to Makkah” project.
The statement said that the “Road to Makkah” project will provide facilities to Pakistani pilgrims going for Hajj from Islamabad Airport.
The Prime Minister said that the agreement between Saudi Arabia and Iran will help in promoting regional peace and security.
The Saudi Deputy Interior Minister said that the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are historic.
He said that the Road to Makkah project will be extended to Lahore and Peshawar from next year.
