Karachi’s District Central Police and Rangers arrested the suspects involved in firing on the Rangers during an intelligence-based joint operation.
SSP Central Maruf Usman informed the media about the details in a press conference in this regard.
Maruf Usman said that 2 key operatives of the street criminal group that killed 1 Rangers officer and injured another for resisting the robbery have been arrested.
Among the accused are Ahmedullah alias Ganjorai son of Amirullah, Noor Khan alias Chhotabhai son of Sher Khan.
According to SSP Central, the accused have revealed during the investigation that on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr, the accused were looting near the board office and at the same time the Rangers personnel who were going home after finishing their duty reached the spot and tried to arrest them. .
According to known Usman, the accused opened fire on the Rangers personnel, one officer was martyred and another was injured in the incident.
The police have recovered the murder weapon pistol, mobile phone and motorcycle used in the incident from the accused.
According to the police, the accused belong to the Afghan robbery group, which consists of 17 accused.
According to SSP Central, the accused have revealed that they used to rent weapons to other street criminals for the crime.
The accused used to collect stolen mobile phones and sell them in Afghanistan after collecting 50 mobile phones.
The accused were wanted by the police in dozens of robbery and extortion cases.
