Harvard: A survey conducted in the United States has revealed that if you cannot walk or jog due to lack of time or any other reason, consuming vegetables and fruits can definitely be a partial remedy.

Earlier, it was believed that no prescription and precious medicine in the world could be equal to physical exercise or brisk walking. However, based on some evidence, it has been found that the use of vegetables and fruits can also be partially useful in this regard.

In this regard, Harvard University scientists have said that if you eat some amount of fruits and vegetables regularly every day, it is equivalent to walking thousands of steps. Thus diet can provide the benefits of jogging. However, if you also walk while eating fruits and vegetables, it can have wonderful physical and mental benefits.

In this regard, Harvard University scientists examined a total of 2300 people. They found that people who walked 4,000 steps a day and those who ate a Mediterranean-style diet of fruits and vegetables had similar oxygen levels and cardiovascular health. This is good news for those whose daily busyness doesn’t allow them time for brisk walking.

The reason for this is that fruits and vegetables are fibrous foods. They contain beneficial chemicals and antioxidants that benefit the body from head to toe. They have excellent effects on the heart and mind.

After the study, Dr. Michael Mai of the Beth Israel Deaconess Center at Harvard said, “This study was based on a questionnaire and is a strong evidence that there is a significant relationship between diet and better health.”

The summary of the research is that eating small amounts of fruits and vegetables four to five times a day has the same benefits as walking or jogging.
