President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan could not get 50% of the votes in Turkey’s presidential election, according to media projections, a decision is likely in the second phase of the election on May 28.
According to Turkish media, the presidential candidate Sinan Ogan, who came third with more than 5 percent of the votes in the elections, has become the kingmaker.
According to Turkey’s official media, more than 97 percent of the votes have been counted, according to which Erdogan has won 49.3 percent and his rival Kemal Kilicdar Avolu has won 44.9 percent.
Addressing his supporters, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that if this is the decision of the nation, we are ready for the second phase of the election.
On the other hand, out of 600 seats in the Parliament, the ruling coalition has won 323 seats.
It should be noted that any candidate needs more than 50 percent of the votes to become the president in Turkey.
