Islamabad: Four children died after eating wild herbs in Murree forest, one child died after falling into a rain drain.
According to authorities, four children from Daryagli, Gilgit, 13-year-old Muhammad Zaman, 10-year-old Sher Azam, Shafiq Ghaffar, and Arif Aleem went to the nearby forest to play, where they mistakenly ate a wild plant as a fruit. After some time the condition of the children started to deteriorate.
Meanwhile, two children somehow came out of the forest and reached the area, after which people informed Rescue 1122 and the police.
The rescue officials said that the children had gone deep into the rainwater drain where one child, Arif Aleem, woke up in the drain due to his condition and died, while the other three children were rescued and shifted to the hospital where their treatment continues Is.
SHO Murree Ijaz Shah said that the children’s stomachs have been washed and their condition is out of danger.
