Dhaka: Powerful Cyclone ‘Mocha’ hit the coasts of Myanmar and Bangladesh, bringing heavy rains and winds of up to 195 kmph, disrupting normal life.
According to the World News Agency, 300,000 people had already been evacuated from the coastal areas of Bangladesh in view of the category 5 storm in the Bay of Bengal.
However, it is estimated that a total of 2 million people will be affected by Cyclone Mocha in Myanmar and Bangladesh. In view of the fear of landslides due to torrential rains, safety measures have been taken.
The possibility of large-scale loss of lives and property is being shown, due to which an emergency has been imposed in hospitals, while municipal institutions and fire brigades have also been alerted.
