
A K Electric spokesperson said the 20-year license will expire in July 2023, with the utility submitting a detailed merger plan to the competition agreement.
According to the K Electric spokesperson, under the CTBCM rules, eligible consumers will be able to get electricity from competing companies through the K Electric network.
K Electric has applied for a 20-year license to Nepra, with plans to invest Rs 484 billion over the next 7 years, the spokesperson said.
The K Electric spokesperson further said that since privatization, the losses in the transmission and distribution system have been reduced from 34 to 15 percent.
