Response sought from Imran Khan and FBR on disqualification petition

Peshawar: The Peshawar High Court has sought a response from Imran Khan and the FBR on the Awami National Party’s petition for disqualification of Imran Khan.

According to Express News, Provincial President of Awami National Party Amil Wali Khan has filed an application for the disqualification of Imran Khan, which has been fixed for hearing tomorrow.

The application was heard by a two-member bench consisting of Chief Justice Musrat Hilali and Justice Shakeel Ahmed. The Peshawar High Court issued a notice to former Prime Minister Imran Khan and the FBR and sought their reply yesterday.

In the petition, Imran Khan is accused of concealing assets in the nomination papers, Imran Khan sold Tosha Khana gifts illegally, Imran Khan did not disclose his wife’s jewelery worth Rs 70 lakhs even in the nomination papers form, Imran Khan hid assets in the nomination papers in the by-election, which is a violation of the Election Act, 2017.

Meanwhile, a petition filed for the disqualification of Imran Khan for performing Iddat Nikah was disposed of. The application was heard by a two-member bench consisting of Chief Justice Musrat Hilali and Justice Shakeel Ahmed.

The petitioner’s lawyer had taken the position that Imran Khan married Bushra Bibi during the period of Iddat, when divorce takes place, then the period of Iddat is three months, when she dies, then the period of Iddat is 4 months and 10. .

The petitioner further said that the religious scholar who taught Imran Khan’s marriage has stated that Imran Khan married for the second time, Imran Khan made a cipher issue and accused the army.

On this request, Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Musrat Hilali said that this is a political case. The petitioner’s lawyer requested to withdraw the case, on which the court disposed of the request.
