Taliban government willing to be part of CPEC project

According to international media reports, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang held talks with his Pakistani counterpart Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, on May 6.

The three countries agreed to extend the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to Afghanistan and pledged to promote ties between the countries.

On this occasion, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the ministers of the three countries have agreed to maintain relations, deepen political trust, respect each other’s sovereignty and deal with disputes through equal consultation.

The ministry added that they oppose illegal unilateral sanctions against Afghanistan and interference in its internal affairs. Both Afghanistan and Pakistan are committed to promoting trilateral relations with China in politics, security and economy to protect their common interests.
