Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan arrived in Baghdad to discuss security issues.
This is his first visit to Iraq after becoming the Foreign Minister, he will meet the Iraqi Foreign Minister Fawad Hussain.
Spokesman of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed al-Shaf said that there will be a joint cooperation committee meeting between the two countries.
He said that Iraq and Saudi Arabia will discuss the role of Iraq in regional security and stability, as well as negotiations and closing the gaps in the region.
An important topic of discussion in the meeting of the foreign ministers of the two countries will be the direct talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia, which Iraq has started hosting in 2021.
These negotiations started during the government of former Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Khadimi.
