Turkey rejected the US proposal to send Russian missile defense systems to Ukraine

Ankara: The US proposed to Turkey to use the Russian missile defense system in Ukraine, which Turkey has rejected.

According to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, the international media said that the United States had proposed to use the S-400 Russian missile defense system in Turkey in Ukraine, which Turkey has rejected.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has said that the United States had asked us to send the Russian defense system S-400 to Ukraine, which we refused because this proposal violates Turkey’s sovereignty.

The foreign minister also said that the United States had also proposed to Turkey to hand over the control of this missile defense system to the United States or any other country, including Ukraine, in the context of the Ukraine-Russia war, but Ankara has repeatedly said that Turkey India has purchased the S-400 missile defense system for national security and no other country has the right to interfere with it.

It should be noted that in 2017, Turkey signed an agreement with Russia to acquire the latest S-400 system after long attempts to buy air defense systems from the United States proved futile.
