Karachi: The annual matriculation exams 2023 will start from Monday, May 8, for which all the preparations have been completed.

Chairman of Secondary Education Board Karachi, Syed Sharaf Ali Shah, while holding a press conference, said that about 400,000 candidates are participating in the matriculation exams this year.

Secretary Board Muhammad Ali Shaikh and Acting Controller of Examinations Habibullah Sahag were also present on the occasion. The chairman board while giving a briefing said that this year admit cards have been released online by the board for class 9th and 10th. A total of 3 lakh 93 thousand 264 male and female students will appear for science and general group regular and private exams.

More than 43,000 students have enrolled in the exams compared to last year, while 79 candidates from jails are giving the exams. For the examinations, the board has set up 524 centers, including 279 for male students and 245 for female students, which have been established in different 18 towns of Karachi, where the board officers will be responsible for distributing the examination papers.

He asked the proctor of examinations and other officers to issue instructions to all the examination centers to display instructions outside the examination center during the examinations that no device, mobile phone or any type of copying material should be carried with them at all. bring We have issued letters to Commissioner Karachi, DG Rangers, Additional IG, Director Education Karachi, Director Private Schools Sindh and other departments regarding foolproof arrangements.

Letters have been issued by the board to law enforcement agencies to enforce Section 144 at all examination centres, which will ban outside interference at these centers and photostat machines operating in their vicinity. The exam will be closed. He said that for the convenience of all schools and students, center lists have been released on the board’s website www.bsek.edu.pk.

Chairman Bordane said that a reporting cell will be set up in the board office to monitor the examinations, where special teams of the board will take measures regarding the report to prevent duplication. An efficient system has been created for the delivery of examination papers and these papers will be delivered to the hub centers by the board officials.

The Center Superintendent or his representative from the Hub Centers will receive the sealed papers with the authority letter and forward them to their examination center and the answer copies will be forwarded to the School Superintendent or his representative in the Board as soon as possible. The vigilance officer will reach the examination center half an hour before the examination time on daily basis at each examination center and will stay there for the whole time during the examination to take measures and monitor to prevent cheating and prepare his report on daily basis. It will be submitted to the reporting cell established in the board.

Chairman Board further said that Vigilance Officer will sign the sealed envelope in his presence. He added that the government is making a concerted effort to control duplication through the district administration and the board. On the direction of the Sindh Government, cooperation is being sought from all institutions to conduct transparent examinations. The board has written a request to the K Electric management to not load-shedding during the exams, so that the students can take the exams in a good environment.
