Pakistan’s ambassador to the Netherlands, Seljuk Mustansar Tarar, was invited by the famous TU Delft University of the Netherlands to address the students on the topic of Pakistani architecture.
These students are working on designing eco-friendly and cost-effective housing units in Pakistan and this was their class assignment.
TU Delft’s Department of Architecture and Built Environment is one of the top architecture schools in the world.
The Pakistani ambassador holds a degree in architecture and is also the author of “All that Art”, a book on Pakistani art and architecture.
While talking to the students, he referred to the Indus Valley, Gandhara civilization and the Mughal era.
He also reviewed the talent of Pakistani architects and representative figures of urban planning such as late Akhtar Hameed Khan, Arif Hassan, Nair Ali Dada and Yasmin Lari.
TU Delft teachers appreciated that Ambassador Seljuq Mustansar Tarar provided their students with a comprehensive and useful academic review.
TU Delft students will work on a 10-week assignment on designing for extreme weather conditions in Pakistan.
