Karachi: 2 alleged robbers were killed by firing by a citizen near Five Star Chowrangi in North Nazimabad.
SHO North Nazimabad Amjad Kayani said that the police reached the spot on the report of firing during a robbery incident near a private hospital while going from Five Star Chowrangi to Ship Owner Chowrangi and killed and seriously injured the alleged robber Abbasi Shaheed. He was taken to the hospital where he also succumbed to his injuries.
He said that the initial investigation revealed that the firing was done by a citizen whom the two robbers were trying to rob, but after the incident the citizen disappeared from the scene.
According to SHO Amjad Kayani, 2 pistols, 3 mobile phones and a motorcycle were recovered from the crime scene which were seized from the limits of Pirabad police station.
The dead robbers could not be identified immediately, but the police are making efforts to identify the dead robbers with the help of biometric system.
The ages of the alleged robbers are said to be around 22 to 25 years while their bodies have been kept in the Edhi mortuary for the next of kin.
Police are looking for closed-circuit cameras near the scene of the incident so that their footage can help in the investigation and also find any clues about the citizen who fired.
