An Indian film was screened during the students’ fair at Lyari University named after Benazir Bhutto Shaheed in Lyari area of Karachi.

During the student festival at Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University, the Indian film “Herapheri” was screened.

Students sitting in the auditorium of Jamia Lyari also saw inappropriate clothes and immoral dancing in the film.

Sources say that the student council had sought permission for a 3-day fair through the business administration department and an Indian film was played on the third day of the fair.

On the occasion of the screening of the Indian film in the auditorium, except for one teacher, other teachers of the university, including the relevant department, were not present, the participants kept making videos of it with their mobile phones.

It should be noted that the vice chancellor of the university Dr. Akhtar Baloch is on forced leave for the last two years and this charge is with the vice chancellor of Jinnah Medical University and PMDC member Dr. Siraj Memon.

The Department of Boards and Universities is unable to fulfill its responsibilities in this regard and has not been able to appoint a Vice-Chancellor in time in any university.

The administration of Lyari University has said in its ongoing statement in this regard that the fair was organized without any prior permission from the university administration and the organizers did not follow the prevailing rules and did not respect the university code of conduct. However, this festival was immediately stopped after receiving the information.

It has been said in the statement that the organizer has severely violated the rules of the university in this regard, due to which the organizer has been summoned after taking notice of the matter and disciplinary action is being taken.

The administration made it clear that the university cannot allow such a bad example in the campus under any circumstances.
