Washington: A study has shown that regular financial support from the government or an organization to an extremely poor family promotes healthy brain development and reduces the risk of mental illness.

The summary of the research of the National Institute of Health and the National Institute of Drug Abuse in the United States is that the more poverty there is in the family, the more the brain, mental and neurological activity can be affected in the children. In particular, there are negative effects on brain development.

However, as soon as social programs, or other forms of financial support are adopted, this shortfall can be overcome. In this regard, experts have said that this difference can be seen significantly in children aged 9 to 11 years. The research is published in Nature Communications.

In this regard, 10,000 adolescents and teenage children have been evaluated in 17 states across the United States. It was found that children from poor families have a smaller hippocampus in their brains than those from middle or rich families. But it also affects education, test results and test scores.

Even poverty affects mood and mood. Experts also noted that because of poverty, irritability, depression, and irritability were common in the family. Even children as young as 9 to 11 years old were seen affected by it.

According to experts, if governments help such families under welfare schemes, this situation can be reduced by 48%. That’s why governments around the world have been asked to start a program to help the poor.
