Islamabad: K Electric has increased the price of electricity by Rs 3 70 paise per unit.
According to the Nepra authority, the electricity price has been increased for the electricity consumers in the context of the March monthly fee adjustment. The hike will not be applicable to Elekrak’s Lifeline customers.
Nepra officials say that in March, K Alekrak generated 26 rupees 44 paisa per unit of electricity while the cost of electricity received from the federal government was 9 rupees 50 paisa per unit. According to the chairman Nepra, in the last 5-7 years Alekrak did not show much improvement. Power generation on imported fuel has become very expensive.
K Electric officials said the price of LNG from Sui Southern increased by 14 percent, the price of power from CPPA increased by 41 percent and the price of LNG from Pakistan LNG increased by 20 percent. Is. K Elekrak added 1900 MW power to its system. The power generation capacity has been improved by 19%.
With the increase of Rs 3.70 paise per unit in the price of electricity by K Electric, an additional burden of Rs 5 billion 47 crore 10 lakh will be imposed on the citizens of Karachi.
