Karachi: After the death of a youth in an alleged encounter by the Newtown Investigation Police, the Hindu community protested in front of the Newtown police station and demanded an impartial investigation into the incident, while Syed Farman, the investigation officer involved in the alleged fake encounter, has been suspended.

According to details, on Monday night, the New Town Investigation Police claimed to have killed the robber and arrested his accomplice in an alleged encounter near a private hospital on Stadium Road.

According to the police, 2 robbers on a motorcycle were fleeing after robbing a citizen who informed the police mobile about the incident, on which the robbers were chased, they opened fire on the police and one robber was killed in the retaliatory fire. done while the other was arrested.

When the youth’s family got the information about the incident, a large number of people belonging to the Hindu community reached the Newtown police station and called the competition fake and demanded legal action against those responsible and an impartial investigation into the incident.

Babar Mirza Advocate, who was present with the Hindu community on this occasion, said that the youth killed in the firing and the arrested youth were cousins ​​and residents of the old vegetable market who went to buy something with 150 rupees from home.

According to Babar Mirza Advocate, one of the two young men was killed by the police in the alleged encounter and the other young man was arrested. The police retaliated.

Babar Mirza Advocate further said that on the protest of the Hindu community, a meeting was held with SSP East and SP Investigation, on which Syed Farman, the investigation officer involved in the alleged encounter, has been suspended, while the statement of the detained Anil has been recorded. An inquiry committee headed by SP Gulshan Iqbal has been constituted on the instructions of the police officers.
