Lahore: There is tension between Pakistan and India, but a large number of people from both countries are friends with each other on social media. One such social media friendship has turned into a husband-wife relationship.
An Indian youth who befriended a Pakistani Hindu girl on Facebook reached Pakistan and married his Facebook friend.
The groom Mahendra Kumar, an advocate from the Indian state of Mumbai, and the Pakistani bride Sanjugata Kumari were friends on social media for a long time. Both of them decided to get married, then Mahendra Kumar arrived in Pakistan with his family to pick up his bride.
With the consent of both the families, the marriage ceremony took place in the local marriage hall of Sukkur with fanfare. The ceremony was well attended by the relatives of the bride and groom and people from the Hindu community.
Sanjugata Kumari along with her husband will go to India in a few days. The newlywed couple will go to India.
It should be noted that most of the love marriages between the citizens of Pakistan and India sometimes fail and the couple who are divided by the borders have to face many difficulties including obtaining the citizenship of many other countries.
