An 18-year-old man was arrested in Singapore on charges of supporting ISIS and planning attacks.

According to foreign news agencies, Singaporean student Irfan Daniyal was detained in December, which has now been announced.

The student was arrested under the Internal Security Act, which can be held without trial for up to two years.

Security officials say the student was influenced by ISIS’s online propaganda and wanted to use social media to recruit fighters for attacks in the country.

Officials say the student had planned to make a suicide bomber to attack a military camp.

Recall that in 2020, authorities arrested a 16-year-old youth for planning attacks on two mosques.
