Lahore: Indian news channels have outdone themselves in anti-Pakistan fake news and anti-Muslim propaganda for the blessing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Recently, a picture went viral on social media in which it can be seen that there is an iron net over a grave and it is locked. The photo was taken to allege that this grave is in Pakistan where parents lock the graves of their daughters to protect their bodies from abuse.
This picture has been picked up by several major Indian publications including ANI, The Times, News 18, Times of India, The Print, TimesNow and NDTV among others.
When the image was cross-checked using Google Maps/Street View services to find out the truth behind the dubious claim of the image being used as propaganda against Pakistan, it was found that the image was used to target Pakistan. The image being used is actually of a cemetery in Hyderabad, India.
The cemetery is located opposite Masjid Salar Malik in Darab Jang Colony, Midnapet, Hyderabad, India. The graves pictured are locked by families to prevent others from burying any bodies inside their loved ones’ graves.
Pakistani authorities say that Indian media should focus on the serious situation of increasing and painful incidents of violence against women, living and dead, in India instead of doing such vile and negative propaganda to defame and target Pakistan.
