Iraqi Prime Minister Shia Al-Sudani has said that our position regarding foreign military forces is clear that Iraq does not need armed forces.
He said this yesterday while talking to the official TV channel Al-Iraqiya.
The Iraqi Prime Minister said that our security structure is ready to deal with any kind of threats.
Prime Minister Shia al-Sudani says that there is a need to restructure the international military alliance in Iraq.
He said that how long the military forces will stay here, their mission and responsibilities and areas of cooperation should be clearly and transparently explained and they should be given a legal form that can be placed before the political parties and Parliament.
The Iraqi Prime Minister said that the government is negotiating with the coalition forces and we have formed a team of our security establishment which is leading these negotiations.
He said that after the negotiations, we will arrive at the final formula under which the international military forces will be reorganized.
The US-led international military coalition remains in Iraq after the US military withdrew from Iraq in 2012.
A small military force was left in the Arab state only to protect the US embassy and train Iraqi forces.
