New Delhi: Bollywood actor Sooraj Pancholi acquitted in actress Jaya Khan suicide case.
According to the Indian media, the special court of the Indian Investigation Agency (CBI) declared actor Sooraj Pancholi innocent in the case of actress Jaya Khan’s suicide while pronouncing the verdict of the 10-year-old case.
Sooraj Pancholi was accused of inciting Bollywood actress Jaya Khan to commit suicide and was formally charged in 2018. Suraj Pancholi had denied the allegations.
The body of 25-year-old Bollywood actress Jaya Khan was found hanging from a fan in her residence in Mumbai in 2013. Jaya Khan’s mother Rabia had claimed after her daughter’s death that the actress was killed by her close friend Sooraj Pancholi.
Surach Pancholi was arrested after receiving the last alleged letter written by Jaya Khan but was later released on bail.
Actor Sooraj Pancholi is the son of veteran Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi and actress Zarina Wahab. Zarina Wahab was also present with her son on the occasion of pronouncing the verdict in the Jaya Khan suicide case.
