The government and PTI finally came to a table on the issue of same-day elections in the country.
During the negotiations, the government and the PTI set their terms, with the PTI proposing a constitutional amendment for the dissolution of all assemblies in May and simultaneous elections in July.
The Prime Minister has already made it clear that the one-point agenda of the election will be discussed together.
On the other hand, PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has refused to participate in the talks.
Yesterday, in the Supreme Court’s case of holding elections simultaneously across the country, the Chief Justice remarked that the court cannot compel negotiations, it only wants the implementation of the Constitution so that the dispute can be resolved.
The Chief Justice said that they are neither issuing any directive nor giving any timeline, they will issue an appropriate order.
The Chief Justice further said that please sit together for the constitution, if there is no agreement for the protection of the national interest and the constitution, then it will continue as it is.
