Negotiations between the federal government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have started.
The meeting of the delegation that reached the Parliament House for negotiations between the government and the PTI is going on in the chamber with the Chairman of the Senate.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf delegation includes Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Fawad Chaudhry and Ali Zafar.
The PTI delegation is meeting on a one-point agenda related to the elections.
The government delegation includes Ishaq Dar, Azam Nazir Tarar, Saad Rafiq, Yousuf Raza Gilani, Naveed Qamar, Kishore Zahra.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had expressed his willingness to start talks with PTI today, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and told him about the court proceedings.
PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi also said to meet the government delegation this evening for negotiations.
Speaking to the media outside the court after the hearing in the Supreme Court, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the negotiations will be done by a 3-member committee appointed by Chairman PTI Imran Khan.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Imran Khan has formed a 3-member committee, Fawad Chaudhry, Ali Zafar and myself have formed a committee. If the government is serious, they are ready for negotiations even today.
It should be noted that today the Supreme Court of Pakistan adjourned the hearing regarding the request for simultaneous elections in the national and provincial assemblies and the order to release election funds.
On this occasion, Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial said that we are not giving any timeline, we will issue today’s order, we are not issuing any directive, nor any timeline, the court will issue an appropriate order, please. Sit together for constitution.
