8 ex-Indian Navy personnel jailed in Qatar may be sentenced to death for spying for Israel. The trial of the former Indian Navy personnel detained on August 30 last year will be held on May 3.

Indian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi says that they are in touch with the Qatari authorities, the first hearing of the case was held on March 29, and the next hearing is on May 3.
He said that along with consular assistance, legal assistance is also being provided to ex-servicemen of the Indian Navy.
