Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has written a letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, a copy of the letter has been sent to the office of the Attorney General and Registrar.
In the five-page letter, it has been said that the privilege of the Parliament has been undermined by the court decision, the Supreme Court should not get involved in political entanglements, political matters should be resolved by the Parliament, the Chief Justice and other judges should respect the boundaries of the Parliament.
The letter said that the public representatives have reservations on the recent judgments, remarks of the judges, judicial decisions are overstepping the two basic constitutional powers of the National Assembly.
The Speaker said in his letter that the court decision undermined the privilege of the Parliament, Article 73 assigns powers related to the Finance Bill to the National Assembly, we have to work together for the supremacy of the Constitution.
The Constitution empowers the members of the assembly to approve the Federal Consolidated Fund, I have decided to write to you to inform you of the concerns and concerns of the National Assembly, as the custodian of the House, I am writing to you.
The text of the letter said, “I urge the Chief Justice and the judges to respect the legislative authority of the Parliament. The pillars of the state should work within their domain to avoid bias. The members should have some respectability in the media.” There are also reservations about some of the judges’ remarks.
