The fugitive truck driver responsible for the collision between the truck and the van at Chaliya in Thatta was arrested by the Thatta police.
According to SSP Thatta Adeel Chandio, the truck driver Muhammad Raees had a learning license, according to the preliminary investigation, the accident occurred due to the negligence of the truck driver.
He said that action is also being taken against the owner of the truck, the youths were returning to Karachi from a picnic when they met with an accident.
SSP Thatta Adeel Chandio said that the 9 youths who died in the accident are friends and residents of the same area.
The dead bodies of all the victims of the accident have been kept in Edhi Mortuary, Sohrab Goth, and the police is contacting their families for funeral prayers and burial.
