Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Gharai will participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Defense Ministers’ Meeting held in India this week.
Here, he will have a separate meeting with his Indian counterpart, Rajnath Singh, whose agenda includes enhancing the security and defense partnership with India, especially the cooperation in the two countries’ navies.
According to Indian media reports, the SCO defense ministers meeting will be held from April 27 to 28.
Iran is attending the SCO meeting as a full member, reports from official sources claimed that Iran and India are discussing a broader partnership between the navies of the two countries.
Both countries want to expand their partnership by sharing their military industry.
However, sources say that the defense partnership between India and Iran will remain limited due to the growing tension between Tehran and Washington.
