The number of martyrs of the explosion that took place yesterday in the police station of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Kabal region of Swat has reached 17.

After initial investigation, the police ruled out the possibility of terrorism.

According to Swat DPO Shafiullah Gandapur, there was no evidence of any attack from outside, the explosion occurred in the explosives lying in the basement.

He said that the reason is short circuit or something else? Investigations are ongoing in this regard.

Shafiullah Gandapur said that experts have examined the crime scene, 12 minutes after one explosion, the second explosion occurred.

2-member investigation committee constituted

On the other hand, sources say that a 2-member committee has been formed to investigate the blast, which includes Secretary Home Abid Majeed and DIG Special Branch.

According to the sources, the committee has been instructed to complete the investigation soon and submit the report.

2 CTD officers were also among the martyrs

It should be noted that the walls and roofs of buildings, mosques, houses and schools collapsed due to an explosion at the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police station in Kabal, Swat region yesterday.

40 people were injured in the blast and are undergoing treatment in the hospital, while two CTD officers are also among the martyrs.

Funeral prayers of 9 martyrs

The funeral prayers of 9 officials who were martyred in the explosion that took place yesterday in the CTD police station were performed.

The funeral prayers of the martyred officers were performed in Police Line, Kabul.

IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Akhtar Hayat Gandapur and other officials participated in the funeral prayer.
