Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan said that PTI and the nation stand behind the judiciary for supremacy of the Constitution. The government’s refusal to hold elections is tantamount to an attack on the constitution.

While talking to journalists in Lahore, Imran Khan discussed the country’s political situation and PTI’s future strategy.

He said that the only solution to the ongoing crisis in the country is to refer to the republic.

He said that according to the constitution of Pakistan, the owner of supreme power is Allah Ta’ala and the source of authority is the people. The people exercise their authority through elected representatives in a transparent manner.

He said that the government’s refusal to hold elections is tantamount to an attack on the constitution. The consequences of deviating from the constitution for fear of defeat and vested interests will be disastrous.

Imran Khan said that the purpose of establishment of PTI is to establish justice, rule of law and constitution, since 1996 till date PTI has fought a peaceful, democratic and constitutional struggle.

He said that we are in the field to stop the killing of the Constitution by those who usurped the right of the people to vote.

The former prime minister said that the class above the law is making history of fascism and brutality in the country. Law and fundamental rights are being flouted. The brutal series of kidnapping and torture of innocent youth continues.

Imran Khan said that the election is not for me or Tehreek-e-Insaaf, it is the need of the country and the nation.

He said that the dissolution of assemblies is a hundred percent constitutional and democratic way, the constitution does not allow exceeding 90 days.

Imran Khan said that the Supreme Court is the center of hopes of the nation, PTI and the nation stand behind the judiciary for the supremacy of the Constitution.

He also said that he is fully prepared for the elections, and will resist unconstitutional attempts to postpone them.
