Quetta: Barrick Gold Corporation has made the first payment of $3 million (about Rs. 750 million) to the provincial government of Balochistan for the Recodek project.
Barrick Gold Corporation has made the first payment of $3 million (about Rs. 750 million) to the provincial government of Balochistan under the new partnership framework for the Rekodic project.
Barracks and the Balochistan government recently mutually agreed on a timetable for the disbursement of funds allocated to the province after final agreements were signed last month and the necessary legal requirements met.
Ali Rind, country manager of Ricodic Pakistan, presented a check of $3 million to Secretary Mines and Minerals Development Department, Balochistan, Saidal Khan Loni. It will create 4,000 long-term jobs. The construction of the mine will be completed in two phases and the plant will be constructed in the first phase.
