Nairobi: 26 more bodies have been found in Kenya after 21 who died of voluntary starvation, all 47 of whom were affiliated with a church and were practicing starvation for spiritual degrees.
According to the World News Agency, 47 bodies have been recovered so far during the investigation into the death of a few people due to starvation in Malindi area in Eastern Kenya.
It has been revealed in the post-mortem of the dead bodies that these people were on complete starvation for several days until they died. Investigation revealed that a church-affiliated cult in the area was encouraging residents to starve themselves to death.
Inspired by his preaching, the bodies of those who starved themselves to death were also buried in the nearby cemetery, where more graves are being dug. The bodies of 5 members of the same family were also found in one grave.
According to local media, the police released the head of the church on bail after his arrest, but six of his accomplices are still in police custody.
