PP announces protest to hold elections in the country on a single day

Karachi: The People’s Party has announced a protest across Sindh on April 25 to hold elections on a single day across the country.

President PPP Sindh Nisar Khoro says that the People’s Party will protest strongly in all the district headquarters of Sindh on Tuesday, April 25, because Sindh does not accept the decision of separate elections apart from one-day polls.

Nisar Khoro said that according to Article 69 of the Election Act, the elections of the National and Provincial Assemblies should be held on one day across the country because separate elections will be a process aimed at dividing the country into two parts. The two provincial elections are planned to influence the election results of the national and two other provincial assemblies.

President PPP said that the court should not become a tool in the conspiratorial ambitions of Imran Khan, Sindh created Pakistan and Sindh will not allow the country to be divided into two parts.

Nisar Khoro said that conducting elections is the authority of the Election Commission, so the decision of the election should be left to the Election Commission. Interfering with the powers of the Election Commission would be an attempt to rig the elections. The court should review its decision by forming a full court.

The President of the People’s Party said that Punjab and KP Assemblies should be restored if they have to be restored, caretaker governments should be established after the completion of the constitutional period, after which elections should be held in the country on one day.
