Khartoum: Clashes between the army and rebel paramilitary forces in Sudan continued on Eid day despite the ceasefire.
According to the international news agency, two hours after the Eid al-Fitr prayer in Sudan, heavy firing and attacks by the warring forces started on each other.
Earlier, the government army and the leadership of the rebel paramilitary force had agreed on a complete ceasefire for three days on Eid al-Fitr, but now both are accusing each other of violating the agreement.
Two planes were also destroyed in the clashes between the army and the Rapid Reaction Force yesterday, while the death toll has exceeded 410 in the 5-day clashes, while nearly 2,000 have been injured.
Five local aid workers working for the International Rescue Organization are also among the dead, while US and European Union diplomatic staff were also attacked, but escaped unhurt.
It should be noted that the country’s paramilitary force has rebelled against its own army and the instability and peace and order situation in Sudan, which is suffering from a political crisis, has further worsened.
