May this Eid bring happiness in everyone’s life. (Photo: File)
Ramadan Mubarak had just arrived and the whole month passed so fast that I could not even notice. The believers reaped the benefits and blessings of the month of fasting by their fasting and worship, and many heedless people were deprived of these benefits. Like every year, this year too there was a fear of moon sighting dispute and two or two Eids, but nothing happened, and today Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated in Pakistan. Happy Eid to all citizens.
But I don’t know why this Eid, but in all the Eids that have passed in recent times, the joy, excitement and excitement that was there two decades ago is not felt. Human feelings keep changing, perhaps that golden age of childhood, when carelessness and peace were a part of life, at that time the arrival of Eid felt a little different, and now the burden of busy work and responsibilities may have lost those joys. You have lost the sense of feeling. But what is the moratorium on us, most of the people are complaining about the same thing, now it is not a thing in Eid.
Indeed, a lot has changed, those sincere and selfless feelings of the seventies and eighties are no longer there, busyness and hobbies have bound a person to such an extent that even distant relatives are separated, but everyone is one in their own home. They remain unknown to others. In this age of technology, man is also becoming a machine.
Those born in the last century get nostalgic on every Eid. Remember the golden days when the hustle and bustle of Eid was separated. The last ten years of Ramadan were spent in worship and preparations for Eid. Simplicity was the characteristic of that time, but love and sincerity were also at the limit, which is not seen today. People used to make only one suit on Eid, but the happiness of this couple was more than that which is not available today even if they buy separate clothes for the three days of Eid. People used to have time for each other. There are still twenty-four hours in a day, but they lost what they called “time” for themselves.
Today is Eid, everyone will go to meet their relatives, siblings, but in many places it has become just a tradition. How many pages have been written on changing these attitudes, but can all those factors change human relationships so much? After all, what is the reason that today despite everything happening, that happiness is not felt which was achieved even if nothing happened in the past?
For us Pakistanis, there are many other factors that hinder us from achieving happiness. The conditions of the country, economic problems, daily rising inflation and many more, which may have become the destiny of this nation. How can happiness be felt when life is so full of “bads”? Let alone the upper class, their feelings are also different, but the middle and lower class always tried to find happiness and be happy in small things, because other than that, there is no other opportunity. Not found. But now this festival of Eid, which is the messenger of happiness, comes and goes and the same day and night remain.
Rising inflation in the country has made it more difficult for the middle and lower classes to live. In the country, people are dying while standing in lines to get flour, they are also losing their lives after being hanged by street criminals, people are losing their loved ones, how can one celebrate Eid in such a situation? Inflation has broken the back of the people. The markets of the city were deprived of the traditional bustle of Eid. People have also done very little shopping on this Eid. Traders say that only 20 billion has been purchased in Karachi on this Eid. While this purchase is less than the shopping done during the closure of Corona in the past years.
The crime rate in the country has also increased. Looting and robberies have increased tremendously. Videos of robberies during the breaking of fast in Ramadan show the degradation of our society and the incompetence of law enforcement agencies. There is selfishness everywhere, but the government does not care about the time, other politicians are also just shining their shop. By ignoring the problems of the people, the government and the opposition are only fighting for their power. Those who are in power want to save their seat, those who are deprived of power are in the process of preparing their seat for the future by making the country more prone to anarchy.
On this Eid, we pray that the conditions of the country will improve, apart from the elite, the people of this country can also see something good. May this Eid be a harbinger of happiness in everyone’s life. (Amen)
Once again “Eid Mubarak” to you all.
